Weekend Impressions:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be the Number One film at the box office for the second weekend in row. It is guaranteed. The new films that are being released this weekend are not strong enough to open in the Number One spot. That includes what will be the top opening film this weekend, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. No matter how many trailers that I have seen and how spectacular the special effects, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword has always looked ordinary, popcorn i.e. fun yet disposal, and forgettable.

Opening in the second-weekend-wake of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was not a smart move by King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Opening one week again of Alien: Covenant will not help King Arthur: Legend of the Sword take at the box office either. Because of its precarious positioning, I am not sure that King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will even make back its production and marketing budgets. Perhaps King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will be a hit overseas like Warcraft.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will open in Second this weekend at the box office.

The new, wide-opening comedy Snatched will be Third. Amy Schumer is a very popular comedian and Goldie Hawn brings the film name recognition and star-power.

The Fate of the Furious will be Fourth at the box this weekend. The Fate of the Furious has already made over $1.1 Billion at the box office world-wide.

The Baby Boss will be Fifth. In the previous edition, I predicted that last week would be the last time that The Baby Boss cracked the Top Five. The paying fans of The Baby Boss proved otherwise.
